| VE Team Examination Schedule for 2009 and 2010 |
Updated on 11/15/2009 The Western Illinois ARC has sponsored a VE Team and examination sessions since the very early days of the Volunteer Examiner program. All tests are administered under the ARRL VEC program. The WIARC exam team always consists of at least three Extra class examiners. This ensures that all level of examination are always available to candidates at every test session. Currently, examination sessions are scheduled once per quarter and are normally held on the first Saturday following the first Wednesday of the months of February, May, August and November. Session times for the February, May and November sessions is 9:30 AM. For the August session, held in conjunction with the annual Swapfest, the session starts at 12:30 PM. NOTE: Although walk-in candidates will be acceptaed at each session, reservations are strongly advised. Standard policy is that if there are no pre-registered candidates by 8 PM of the Thursday preceeding the test date, the session will be cancelled without further notification. All examiners are volunteers and donate their time and talents to provide the testing service. It is a small courtessy to them to ask you to register your intention to attend a given session. To do otherwise would require the examiners to go to the testing site and wait to see if any one shows up. If no one walks in to take an exam, then their time has been wasted. Candidates must bring the following items: two forms of identification, one of which must be a photo ID; the test fee of $15.00 (exact cash); two soft lead pencils; a ball point pen; the orignal and a photocopy of any curreently held FCC amateur license; the otiginal and a photocopy of any current CSCE; a non-programmable calculator (optional, permitted if candidate desires to use it). However, a change in location is always possible due to unforseen circumstances.
